List [tags] for pcc-list@ludd.ltu.se ?

Hi!

----

Is there any reason why mailinglists tags (e.g. the "[foo]" stuff
added to a "subject"-header of emails distributed by a mailing list)
are disabled for pcc-***@ludd.ltu.se ? It would make it much much
much easier to spot postings related to the pcc list in inboxes with
high volume (like mine)).

Bye,
Roland

You can match on the to: field as pcc-***@ludd.ltu.se to filter it.
I don't run the list server, it just happens to be in the same domain.

Let me guess - because those tags are redundant noise, and everybody else
is perfectly capable of filtering for "Sender: owner-pcc-list"?

Hauke, please do not mistake automated mail filtering with human quick
reading. The problem is that if you have lots of mails the [tags] are
helpful. It sucks a lot of lots of lists do not have tags, in that
cases mails get missed and work not done.

I can probably add this functionality to the list if someone tells me
how to teach majordomo to do so.

the [tags] are helpful.
They clutter the subject line with meta information that is readily
available in other header entries, punishing those of us who know how to
filter incoming mail. Plus, humans might want to add [topic] tags for
frequently discussed subtopics.

Even outlook can filter incoming messages and move them to a specific
folder.
